After dinner, it seems half of Da Lat heads to the same place: the Da Lat Night Market, where you walk among food stalls and souvenir sellers with something hot in your hands while the air turns cold. Here is where the market is, when it opens and closes, what to eat, where to park, what to wear and what has changed in 2026.
Where is Da Lat Night Market?
The night market fills Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai Street in front of Da Lat Market, in the centre of town, and runs up the steps from the Hòa Bình area down to the market. Some older residents still call it by its old name, chợ Âm Phủ, according to VTC News. From The Pine Spa & Wellness it is about 550 m on foot, by OpenStreetMap; from Xuân Hương Lake you can walk there too.
What time does Da Lat Night Market open and close?
There are no official opening hours, and sources differ. VietNamNet wrote in 2018 that the market runs from 6 pm until the next morning; DTiNews wrote in 2024 that it stays open until around 1–2 am. Taken together, plan on an evening visit, from around dusk until late at night.
The covered Da Lat Market next to it keeps day hours: Wikipedia says it is closed at night and shuts at 6 pm. Come in the morning for the freshest flowers, vegetables and fruit; what the market sells floor by floor is in our Vietnamese guide to chợ Đà Lạt.
What to eat at Da Lat Night Market
Znews calls the night market a snack paradise. Dishes to look for:
- Bánh tráng nướng: rice paper grilled over charcoal with toppings, sold all over the city.
- Sữa đậu nành: hot soy milk, the classic drink on a cold night.
- Bánh căn and crab soup (súp cua).
- Dâu lắc: strawberries shaken with sugar and shrimp salt.
Besides food, VietNamNet found “almost everything from household goods to food and souvenirs”. Prices in older articles are out of date, so ask the price before you order or buy.
Getting there and parking
- If you are staying in the centre, walk: it is quicker than finding a parking spot.
- Paid motorbike and car parks surround the Hòa Bình area, including one in front of the kiosks above the steps down to the market, according to Báo Pháp luật.
- On holidays they fill quickly: on the evening of 1 September 2026, Tiền Phong reported the night market packed and the nearby car parks at times almost overloaded.
- Coaches with more than 29 seats are restricted from the Hòa Bình area and several central streets, according to SGGP; on a group tour, ask where the bus will drop you off.
What to wear to the night market
Da Lat nights are cool all year: average lows range from 11.7°C in January to 16.4°C in June. Wear a jacket, and add a scarf from December to February. From May to October it rains on most days, so carry a light rain jacket and wear shoes with a good grip: the steps down to the market get slippery. More in what to wear in Da Lat.
What changed at the night market in 2026
According to Báo Lâm Đồng (31 March 2026), the local ward is reorganising the night market by type of goods, with matching stall designs, has proposed moving part of it into the existing market building, and is studying a new location for the night market. The article does not name that location, so before you go, ask your hotel whether the market is still in the same place.
Before or after the market
From the market you can walk to Xuân Hương Lake or Lâm Viên Square. If you have been on your feet all day, rest them first: The Pine Spa & Wellness is at 18/3 Bùi Thị Xuân, open until 21:00, with a Vietnamese head spa and massages; see Vietnamese head spa in Da Lat. Dry your hair fully before heading back out into the cold.
